I developed the Nonsurgical Lip Lift (NLL) five years ago as a technique to produce consistently beautiful and natural looking lip treatments.
Lips are the most challenging area of Nonsurgical Facial Aesthetics as they require great technical skill along with artistic acumen. Crucially, they should always be viewed as part of the whole face and come at the end of Facial Reshaping. Why? Because restoring the client’s ideal facial shape will invariably improve how the lips look before any lip treatment begins.
The NLL works by gently and subtly augmenting the naturally occurring pillows of the lips, called ‘tubercles’ followed by gentle injections under the border of the lip (vermillion border) to increase vertical height. The unsightly ducky lip appearance is created by injections directly into the vermillion border projecting the lips outward. This is avoided here, because the NLL makes use of the natural anatomy of the lips, rather than trying to create something new and unnatural.
In this way the technique reliably and consistently produces beautiful, subtle and natural looking results. I also found that when augmenting the tubercles a little pouty and aesthetic ‘o’ was created in the middle of the lips which clients really liked, and I have termed this the Aesthetic ‘o’.
